The Treasury and Resources and Social Security Departments have issued a consultation document to cover their joint review of personal tax, pensions and benefits in Guernsey. The review is to be conducted over two years and aims to ensure the long term sustainability of public finances and services and to ensure a greater degree of equity in the system.
The Department is seeking public opinion on the future of the Guernsey personal tax and social insurance systems and is inviting individuals and organisations to respond to the consultation. There are currently two public presentation sessions scheduled (25 April and 1 May) as outlined in the timetable section of the consultation document.
Copies of the consultation can be downloaded from www.gov.gg/ptr and printed copies of the consultation document are available from Sir Charles Frossard House, the Social Security Department (Edward T Wheadon House); the Income Tax offices, Guille-Allès Library and the Alderney Island Hall.
The closing date for the consultation is 31 May 2013.
